Why is this particular ministry important?

The Apostle Paul instructed the Romans: When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. (Romans 12:13) These words point out our mission in Guest Ministries. We serve to help people find Jesus; after all, someone probably helped us find him.
We used to call ourselves volunteers. Now we call ourselves ambassadors because we recognize our mission makes us ambassadors, more than volunteers. No matter our Job Description: Shuttle Drivers, Parking Team, Greeters, Information Desk, Coffee Ministry, Hotdog and Cinnamon Rolls Team, Ushers, Communion Prep Team or Communion Delivery Team we are here serving as ambassadors for Jesus.
This is our work: To do whatever is necessary to help people find Jesus. After all, he led the way. At the close of the Last Supper with Jesus, he began to wash the disciples’ feet. He was teaching them and us what it means to serve. Although there are cold wintry days and hot summer mornings when we might wonder what we are doing and why, God is doing a greater work through us than we could ever imagine! We do it all for him!
The writer of the Book of Hebrews gives us insight to the spiritual side of our ministry: Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! (Hebrews 13:2)
