My Family: Bill and I have been married for 50+ years. We have 5 children, all of whom are married, which makes 10 children. we have 14 grandchildren and 3 of them married, which makes 17 grandchildren and 2 great grand-children.

My Story: My story begins with my birth in Omaha, Nebraska. After my parent’s divorce when I was two, I moved with my mother to Oregon where we lived until I went to college. For a number of years we lived on the Oregon Coast and to this day, I love the ocean. As a young teenager I followed high school graduation with a year of Bible College. My goal at the time was to be a missionary nurse. I planned to take one year at Bible College, train for three years to be a nurse and head back to Bible College for a final year before going to Africa.

Plans were changed as I met and married a young ministry student who was called into the preaching ministry, not missions. Bill and I began our married life together in a northern California church, living in the parsonage and learning the trials and joys of the local ministry. Two years into our marriage, children began coming and within seven years, we had five little rug rats – three were in diapers at one time. Needless to say, a college education was at the bottom of my thoughts, although my desire for ministry continued.

As the children grew, and the financial needs of raising a family with the limited income of a small church made itself felt, it became necessary for me to go to work. By that time we lived in Boise, Idaho and I was hired by Boise Bible College as a receptionist. The administration allowed me to take a class each semester, and so I began to add to my college credits eventually graduating with an Associates Degree.

About this time, my husband and I moved into church planting. As we left Boise and moved from place to place, I would take a class or two at whatever college was available. While I still desired to continue my college education, and do a better job with ministry, the logistics became impossible. The President of BBC gave me information about Summit Bible College. He had completed his Doctorate there. I contacted Summit and was very encouraged. Not only was it affordable, but they took inventory of all of the different classes from my various efforts and built a specialized plan that fit my educational goals. I worked through the completion of my Bachelor’s Degree in Bible, on through the Master’s Degree in Counseling and ended with a Doctorate in Leadership.

Today I am privileged to work at Real Life Ministries , and I still love ministry! The Lord has even opened doors for me to go on mission trips; twice to Africa, once to Columbia and twice to Mexico. I love serving the Lord and don’t plan on retiring until heaven!

Favorite Verse: “All things work together for good to them that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28.
