Eddie Bateman

Sports and Outdoors Pastor

My Family: I have a wife, two boys and a daughter.

Your Story: I was born and raised in Seattle Washington and moved to North Idaho in August 1994 to wrestle for North Idaho College. Helping out with wrestling camps over the summers is where I got to know Jim Putman. God changed my life in two weeks when I came to RLM in June 1999 at the Post Falls theaters. I met Lindsay, who later became my wife, and invited her to church. She started attending with me and I accepted Jesus into my heart later that summer.

A friend of mine took me under his wing and connected me to serving opportunities and involved me in his home group. I was able to join the youth ministry serving in various roles and was asked to come on staff in August 2005 to pastor in the youth department. Since that point I have been on various teams serving in the community pastor role, high school pastor, young adult pastor and now on the church training and development team.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 and “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.” James 1:19.

Food: Eggs Benedict, sushi and hot hot wings.

Quote: “What we do in Life echoes in Eternity.”

Hobby: Cooking, collecting vinyl LP’s and collecting sports jerseys.

Exercise: I love to ride my road bike, swim and begrudgingly run 3-5 times a week.
