My Family: Married since 2003. I have three daughters – born 2006, 2008, & 2013.

My Story: I was raised most of my childhood in a non-christian, atheist home. I was introduced to church and Jesus when I was young by my uncle and aunt. I believed in Jesus and went to church most of my life and I was baptized into the christian faith in 2000.

There was a time that I fell away from my faith and surrounded myself with “friends” who were a negative influence on my life, resulting in some drug use. After a year of following the world, a girl sent me a random message inviting me to hang out at a church youth event. I showed up to the event along with those worldly “friends.” I felt complete conviction by the Holy Spirit when I saw these church people hanging out together. No one said anything special to me. There wasn’t even a sermon, just basketball and other games. As I observed the church family and their love for one another and for me, I decided I wanted part of that again. I left the event that night without my worldly friends, never looking back. I turned away from my sin and began to follow Jesus again. The girl who invited me to the church youth event is now my wife.

I began to stumble again when I became a police officer. I did not know how to deal with my un-confessed sin and the emotional roller-coaster that police work brought on. With no real relationships with other men who would keep me accountable, I began to lose focus on Jesus and I hurt my wife tremendously by my controlling and un-loving ways. I still knew Jesus as Savior but I wasn’t living completely with Him as Lord of my life. Later, I finally began to understand the need for real relationships, I got involved in a small group of men who discipled me and modeled to me what it looked like to make Jesus Lord of my life. Jesus started to change my life through these men and has restored many relationships, especially between my wife and I. My life is changed because of who Jesus is and what He did for me. I am now privileged to be set apart by God to shepherd His people and love his people just as they loved me.

Favorite Verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.
