Adult Discipleship Ministry Lead Team North region, Biblical Education, Ordination

My Family: wife Linda (married 08/19/94); son Jacob (15), daughter Rachel (13) and son Caleb (10).

My Story: I guess one of the ways I’ve described myself is, “I’m a Timothy Christian,” which is simply to say that I identify with Timothy – both his childhood and his adulthood. My “sincere faith” was, indeed, present first in my grandparents and then my parents and now lives in me! Born and raised in Spokane, WA, I’ve been a believer, a God-follower, a Jesus-freak for as long as I can remember – feeling God’s call into full time ministry when I was in high school. After graduating from high school I entered my “Jonah-phase” ignoring God’s call in pursuit of my own plans for my life attending Pacific Lutheran University with the high aspirations of graduating with a degree in the sciences and heading off to medical school to become a pediatrician (think Patch Adams!). Well…. after being swallowed whole by a whale called “Organic Chemistry, Micro Biology, Physics and some horrible math class” God had my full and undivided attention! And the rest, they say is history; truly “his-story!” I crammed a religion major into 3 semesters, graduated, took a year off to catch my breath, get married and headed off to Luther Seminary in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I earned a Master’s of Divinity degree with a concentration in ministry to youth and family through Youth Leadership Inc.

Four years later, in 1998, I was serving my first church in Gig Harbor, WA as an associate in youth and family ministry. I served in that capacity for 5 years before becoming the solo pastor at the same church for two years, until being officially called as their lead pastor. I continued serving in that capacity for another 5 years before God called me to step away. To trust and obey. To wait on Him to show me the next call. Finally, in August of 2011 the call from Real Life came, and so did we!

We are blessed to be a part of the team and are fully committed to doing our part to live out our historic faith right along with you as we reach the world for Jesus one person at a time.
